Succeed in Applying Practice of Human Resources Development, PT Matahari Department Store Tbk Received Indonesia Human Capital Awards 2018
PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or the “Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) received Indonesia Human Capital Award 2018. On Wednesday, 30 May 2018, at Tridharma Room – Building A – 2nd Fl of Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, South Jakarta, Roy Mandey as Vice President Commissioner – Independent of Matahari received Indonesia Human Capital Award (“IHCA”) 2018.
Human Resources is the most important asset for a company in increasing and developing the company’s performance. With a good human resources management, a company will have capabilities in going through all the challenges including the challenges in today’s digital era. Indonesia Human Capital Award is the highest appreciation given to companies in Indonesia with the purpose to boost the practice of Human Resources development in order to increase Human Capital Index globally. IHCA is conducted by Economic Review cooperates with IPMI International Business School, NBO Group, Thomas International, Indonesia Asia Institute as well as Ideku Group and supported by Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.
The scoring for IHCA was done towards 650 companies which are Government Companies, State – Owned Enterprises, Regionally – Owned Enterprises, and Private Companies (Listed and Non – Listed). The board of jury make an assessment towards the main points such as, Company Profile & Organization Structure, Business Achievement, Human Capital Architecture (Framework / Model), Human Capital Strategy, Recruitment Strategy & HR Planning, Learning & Development, Performance & Development, Human Resources Technology, Employee Engagement, and Industrial Relation. From these 10 aspects, 64 companies are chosen as companies which has applied good Human Capital practices, and one of them is PT Matahari Department Store Tbk which received IHCA 2018 for Private Company – Non Financial – Listed category.
Matahari employed more than 40,000 employees in its 154 stores across Indonesia. In conducting the recruitment, Matahari prioritizes more on giving opportunities to the local citizen around the store. After the recruitment, Matahari will ensure that all of the employees have enough capabilities through routine trainings. Matahari’s employees are also ensured to have a good career path through internal promotion to seek competent human resources for vacant positions. From those human resources development practices, Matahari received IHCA 2018. This award shows that Matahari has successfully applied good human resource practices.
