Matahari The Winner of Best Equitable Treatment of Shareholders In The 10th IICD Corporate Governance Award

In The 10th IICD Corporate Governance Conference and Award, PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or “The Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) successfully won two awards in category Best Equitable Treatment of Shareholders and Top 20 Public Listed Companies. The 10th IICD Corporate Governance Award was held on Monday, 10 December 2018 at the Sasono Mulyo Ballroom Le Meridien Hotel Sudirman, Jakarta.

Realizing the importance of Corporate Governance implementation, the Indonesian Institute of Corporate Directorship (“IICD”) supported by Indonesian Public Listed Companies Association (“AEI”), PERBANAS, PT Citra Negeri Amanah (Subsidiary of IICD) and in partnership with Kontan, was selecting from almost 600 public listed companies in IDX. They chose and conducted an assessment to 200 companies with the biggest and middle market capitalization based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. The assessment was through two steps of: Assessment, conducted by internal team of IICD consist of trained and experience assessors; Expert Review done through intensive discussion between the assessors and reviewers team. From the assessment, the Top 50 companies both from the biggest and middle capitalization category with the highest score for GCG implementation are chosen, and Matahari is in the Top 20 and also won the category of Best Equitable Treatment of Shareholders

“Matahari will always do its business in accordance to good corporate governance by giving information disclosure and transparency to all stakeholders as well as give an equitable treatment to all of the shareholders,” said Miranti Hadisusilo, Corporate Secretary & Legal Director of Matahari. For these efforts, Matahari win Best Equitable Treatment for Shareholders category and once again in the Top 20 companies.  

One of Matahari’s effort in implementing Good Corporate Governance is equal treatment to all of the shareholders, both majority and minority shareholders and continue to keep interacting with all of the shareholders through the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders and regularly updating the investor about the Company’s performance, via one-on-one meetings, conferences and information disclosures in Indonesia Stock Exchange, website and media.
