Matahari Department Store, One of Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in Indonesia
PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or the “Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) becomes one of the winner of Indonesia’s Top 100 Most Valuable Brands 2018. This award is given by SWA Magazine and Brand Finance for brands with the highest score value, both corporate brands and product brands. This award was received by Roy N. Mandey, Vice President Commissioner – Independent of Matahari on Thursday, 31 May 2018 at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.
The award winner was determined from the analysis conducted by Brand Finance toward the Brand Strength Index (BSI) for each companies. The data used in the analysis was collected from the company’s information, Bloomberg, annual report as well as the research which was done by Brand Finance. The three factors which were measured to determine BSI were: input, brand equity, and output. Input factor was obtained from the calculation of the brand management and brand presence; brand equity was calculated from brand awareness; and output was obtained from the calculation of the growth of revenue, market share, profitability, and survey towards the analysts. The analysis then will generate brand value, brand rating, enterprise value, as well as brand ratio.
After conducting several analysis and research through the brand value from each companies, Matahari becomes one of the winner of Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in Indonesia with a US$ 330 million Brand Value and AA+ Brand Rating. This award shows that the brand of Matahari which has existed for 60 years has never stop innovating to maintain its brand value, so the brand is still going strong and becomes the strongest competitor for other brands.
