Matahari Department Store, One Of Indonesia Outstanding Public Companies 2018
PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or the “Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) received an award as one of Indonesia Outstanding Public Companies 2018 for trade, services, and investment category. The award was received by Roy N. Mandey, Vice President Commissioner – Independent of Matahari on Tuesday, 31 July 2018 at Mawar Ballroom, Balai Kartini, Jakarta.
Bank Indonesia predicted the economy growth in Indonesia will increase 5.1 to 5.5% in 2018, after Indonesia has successfully given positive economic performance in 2017. This positive economy performance has encourage more companies to participate in capital market which contributes in the country’s economic growth, and gives several of benefits to companies and public. In supporting capital markets growth in Indonesia, Warta Ekonomi has an initiative to give an appreciation to public companies which successfully has good share trading level and financial performance.
In determining the chosen companies, the research team from Warta Ekonomi conducted a research with quantitative method based on the financial reports and share trading activities. The chosen companies are companies which consistently make and/or grow profits, as well as has good performance and efficiency skills seen from the profit in current year, equity, return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), and other supporting ratios; and companies with excellent share trading performance and liquidity in Indonesia Stock Exchange.
From the research, Matahari is chosen as Indonesia Outstanding Public Companies 2018 for trading, services, and investment category. As one of Indonesia Outstanding Public Companies 2018, Matahari expects to keep supporting the growth of capital market in Indonesia and to always give the best performance in the future.
